Brazilian Sugar: Quality, Types, and Global Standards
Brazil is renowned for its high-quality sugar production, thanks to its vast sugarcane plantations and advanced processing facilities. Brazilian sugars come in various types, including raw, refined, and specialty sugars, each with specific characteristics. Raw sugar, often used in industrial applications, retains some of the natural molasses, giving it a distinct color and flavor. Refined sugar, with its pure white appearance, is widely used for its consistent sweetness and versatility in various culinary and industrial applications. Additionally, Brazilian sugarcane is processed into hydrous and anhydrous ethanol, which are key components in renewable energy. ICUMSA 45 – Refined White Sugar
ICUMSA 45 is the purest and most refined sugar available, with a minimum sucrose content of 99.8%. It is bright white with fine crystals, and has almost no impurities. It dissolves easily, making it perfect for human consumption, food processing, and confectioneries. Known for its clean, sweet taste, ICUMSA 45 meets the highest quality standards worldwide.
ICUMSA 100 – 150 – Extra Special White Sugar
ICUMSA 100-150 is slightly less refined than ICUMSA 45, with a sucrose content of 99.6%. It has larger crystals and an off-white color due to minimal impurities. Commonly used in the food industry for baking and beverages, it maintains high quality standards while being a bit more affordable than fully refined sugar.
White Crystal Sugar
White crystal sugar is refined from sugarcane with medium-sized, clear granules. It’s less processed than ICUMSA 45 but still of high quality, making it ideal for industrial uses, baking, and beverages. It dissolves well and is a staple in many food products around the world.
